Outings and trips are generally planned out at the Annual Planning Meeting at the end of the summer.  Activities include car camping, hiking, backpacking, as well as kayaking and canoeing.  There are a variety of activities throughout the year, with respect to the various weather conditions.  A calendar of current events is available here.

Rhythm of the outings:

  • Monthly, with additional ad-hoc activities such as day hikes and training for 50-milers and other high venture trips.
  • Overnight trips would start either on Friday evening or early Saturday morning with transport to campsite or trailhead and return typically by mid-day on Sunday.
Type of outings:
  • Weekend car camping; backpacking trips; summer camp (alternate years in council/out of council); district activities such as Merit Badge Weekend and Camporee.
  • In addition to week long summer camp the troop does a high venture activity (50-miler) each summer, which could be land based (2009 Philmont) or water based (kayak/canoe trip).

Trip sign-ups:

  • The Scouts sign up for outings on sign-up sheets put out in the back of the meeting room.
  • It is recommended that parents check the sheets for upcoming activities and what their Scout has signed up for.

Forms for outings are located here.
