Leadership

In 577, the boys run the Troop.  The Scoutmaster monitors the direction and keeps the Troop within scouting guidelines.   The boys elect the Scout leadership twice a year.

There are two Assistant Scoutmasters dedicated to the new Scouts and an Assistant Scoutmaster assigned to each Patrol to support the patrols and to help the new boys with their early rank advancement.

The Troop has many Assistant Scoutmasters and other registered adults.  This is one of the strengths of the Troop.  Several dads are Eagle Scouts and many parents have extensive outdoor/high adventure skills in addition to professional skills thus being able to give strong support to the boy led troop leadership.

Parents are encouraged to be involved.  Involvement includes a variety of things such as driving to outings, being a merit badge counselor, and organizing fundraising (popcorn and holiday greens are ways the boys can earn money for equipment and/or outings.)
